Internship Experience...

Internship :

1st Internhsip - Traders hotel, kuala lumpur ( 4/12 - 6/12 )

Basically during my 3 months internship in Traders Hotel i went to 3 Food and Beverage outlets and 2 different Kitchens. For Food and Beverage i went to a semi fine dining restaurant , casual dining restaurant and also in room dining. During my FnB training in the hotel i have learnt a lot about the service sequence in each different departments and i also get to learnt how to upsell and communicate with the guest in order to satisfy their needs and wants. Meanwhile, for the kitchen side i went to the Japanese Kitchen and also the Cafeteria kitchen for the staff. Therefore, i gained a lot of knowledge and experience as i get to do things independently on my own which then improved my hands on experience and skills. 

2ND INTERNSHIP - T.G.I FRIDAY'S RESTAURANT, THE GARDENS (10/10 - 12/12)

During my internship at TGI Friday's Restaurant in The Gardens Mall i went to the Food and Beverage Service for 2 weeks, Bar for 1 week and also 5 different kitchens station for 9 weeks. In the Food and Beverage service I get to learnt about the entire service sequence for each different area and i also got the opportunity to learn about different kinds of drinks that the restaurant serve to the guest. Then, i entered 5 different kitchens which consists of broiler, pasta ,fryer, nachos and also pre kitchen. In each station in the kitchen i get to learnt all the preparations and methods of cooking for each different dishes. Overall, i think it is a very good experience as training in restaurant is a bit different as i get the chance to learn and handle each different task in the restaurant.

3RD INTERNSHIP - RUEMZ HOTEL, Taylor's university  (1/14 - 3/14)

My third internship with Ruemz Hotel i get into two different departments which is the Food & Beverage department and also Housekeeping Department. Throughout my internship with Ruemz hotel, i was given the opportunity to be a marketing manager and also supervise other interns or students. Besides that, I also get the chance to handle all kinds of tasks and duties. Moreover, i had also gained a lot of experience and also valuable lesson from this internship. As a result, the learning outcomes were fulfilled and I have also improved on my skills in terms of problem solving and also communication. In conclusion, I have to admit that this internship has really helped me a lot to be a better hotelier and a leader in the future.

4th INTERNSHIP - GRAND HYATT HOTEL, KUALA LUMPUR (8/15 - 12/15)

My 4th internship which is also my last internship at Grand Hyatt Hotel makes me think that my University life have come to an end and so i went to human resource department as well as housekeeping department which i have yet learnt a lot and faced a lot of challenges during my days in Grand Hyatt. Hence, i have gained much knowledge and experience which gets me prepared on my coming working life. Besides that, i have also learnt to be more independent and have also increased my self confidence. After undergo all of my internships i have now get a clear picture of how real working life is like and also what obstacles that i will be facing in the coming years. Thus, i have found my interest in Human Resource and i am now ready to take the challenges and face the world.

IT Recruiter

  Responsibilities:

  • Identify client’s job requirement by understanding job descriptions and job qualifications.

  • To develop and implement short and long term recruitment campaign as well as deliver service, quality and results.

  • End to end recruitment - Sourcing, Screening, Shortlisting and Offer Management.

  • Develop and consult candidates with both immediate and long term career needs.

  • Assess their skills and experience, career goals and suitability for different roles.

  • Source applicants by searching on job portals, networking and through referrals.

  • Determined applicants qualifications by reviewing applicant resume, conducting initial phone interview follow by face to face interview and propose interested quality profiles to clients.

  • Follow up and arrange interview for shortlisted candidates, constantly communicate with candidates and update status of the application.

  • Manage the interview process and negotiate with clients and candidates on the remuneration packages.

Recruitment 

  • Responsible for sourcing potential candidates, screening and interviewing for Temporary, Contract or Permanent positions by media, networking, and through referrals. 

  • To assist and work closely with clients, build relationships in order to gain better understanding on their recruitment needs and requirements. 

  • Conduct, coordinate and arrange interview sessions for shortlisted candidates. 

  • Follow up on client’s feedback, candidate status.

  • Conduct briefing and induction for newly joined employees.

  • Prepare on-boarding documents - Application form, offer letter etc.

  • Prepare off-boarding documents – Exit interview forms, resignation acceptance letter etc.

 • Responsible for continuous improvement in payroll process.
 • Resolve any payroll issues.
 • Handle approximately 100 contractors payroll.
 • Ensure employee timesheet are fill up correctly and submitted before cut-off date in order to        

   process within the timeframe.

Operation (Staffing) 

 • Employment application and documents preparation for new hiring candidates, contract staff  

   renewal, resignation or staff termination. 

 • Serve HR letter - Bank account opening letter, show cause letter, warning letter, suspension letter,        termination letter & etc. 

 • Site visit to client's work place for contract induction or handle any staff related issues. • Manage /      update contract staff record into database.
 • Conduct reference and background check for due diligence.
 • EA form preparation for tax clearance & monthly invoice submission to clients.
